Arenal Volcano Costa Rica
The Northern region of Costa Rica is an ideal location for nature lovers and adventure seekers. The vast plains of San Carlos and Sarapiqui, the region and Guatuso ,Upala and the Malekus Indigenous reserve comprises a vast expanse of land that offers many cultural and natural attractions. La Fortuna and the surrounding is still the main attraction of the San Carlos plains, and although the Arenal Volcano is no longer active, the region offers much more than the volcanic eruptions. I don’t mean that it is not unfortunate that the activity has ceased, on the contrary, it was always the main attraction of the area. It was truly amazing to see the incredible lava flows and pyroclasts, followed by impressive rumbling and amazing red and yellow fireworks. However, La Fortuna and the surrounding area has become a unique attraction without the activity of the volcano nonetheless. In and around this area, some truly unique activities and attractions can be enjoyed by the visitior. As for the tours that we recommend, there are rafting trips on several rivers, of varying degrees of difficulty such as Rio Toro, Balsa, Tres Amigos and Rio Arenal. There are several canopy tours, rappelling trips, hanging bridges, guided hikes, ancient lava trails, mountain bike tours, night tours, tours on Lake Arenal, canoeing, rafting and flaoting trips to spot local wildlife, ATV tours and the world cvlass and highly famous volcanic hot water springs gardens, including Tabacon and Ecotermales. These are some of the reasons why we recommend La Fortuna and the area around Arenal Volcano and Lake. Another reason would be its location within Costa Rica. It is well situated, as it basically is in the center of the country and it can be perfectly combined with other destinations such as Guanacaste, Rincón, Tenorio, Southern Caribbean, Sarapiqui and Monteverde.
