Montezuma Costa Rica
Montezuma, formerly called Moctezuma, is a coastal village and Hippie community that attracts many tourists looking for something less popular or less touristy. It's a very beautiful area. It is a transitional climatic region where the northern dry mixes with the humid South. Some of its main attractions are the waterfalls of Montezuma, Playa Grande, Playa Hermosa, the town itself and its many bars, restaurants, small hotels and many souvenir stands. Montezuma's beaches are absolutely beautiful, exotic and unique. There are over 20 small coves between Montezuma and Cabuya distributed southward, ideal places to relax in harmony with nature, snorkeling, swimming or sunbathing while reading a book. There are also two larger beaches such as Playa Hermosa and Playa Grande. Alongside Cabuya, Montezuma forms one of the most beautiful coastal areas, a region where you can enjoy surfing, snorkeling, boat tours, many horseback riding trips, hiking and nature observation. There are hotels in the center of the town and there are hotels outside of Montezuma, whether in the hills, or oceanfront in remote places such as Ylang Ylang, a luxury hotel that is located on the beach and only accessible by boat or driving along the beach . Other hotels in the area are Finca Los Caballos, Ylang Ylang, Sano Banano and Hotel Tango Mar.
