Volcano and national park
The National Park Rincon de la Vieja is one of the most important protected areas of Costa Rica. Not only does the park protect the volcano, but within its limits are large portions of tropical dry forest, endangered habitats, and along its northern slopes are more than 20 000 hectares of tropical rainforests with a rich humid climate influenced by the Caribbean. In higher parts are covered by cloud forests, which contain important species of flora and fauna. The scenery and atmosphere in Rincon de la Vieja is unique, with wide valleys, hills, cliffs, rivers, streams, open fields and savannas. The area recalls the Old West, with cowboys who ride herding cows, horses, farms, ranches and Haciendas .... It is a very particular destination worth visiting. It is only 1. 5 hours from the city of Liberia in Guanacaste.
