The Sarapiqui region is located within the province of Heredia, in the broad and rich plains of the Caribbean. The area is particularly known for its biodiversity, which ranges from rich tropical cloud forests of the foothills of Braulio Carrillo National Park, as well as habitats and species of flora and fauna in between the higher altitudes and the lower plains and finally the endless tropical lowland jungles. Furthermore, the area is extremely rich in rivers, wetlands and lagoons. It also serves as a bridge between destinations as Arenal and the Caribbean, both the North and South Caribbean. Plenty of our customers spend 1 night in the area, and some take advantage and make a stay of several days to fully explore the area and its natural treasures . There are several hotels, lodges, tour operators, boat tour operators, canopy tours, plenty of hiking, bird watching and more. The area is also known for the educational programs for high school students, volunteers, scientists and students from well-known universities.
