Costa Rica is famous worldwide for its rich and green amazing tropical rainforests. Costa Rica tropical jungles and rainforests are considered to be among the richest in the world. A large and colorful variety of flora and fauna inhabits these forests, most of them actually protected by government law under some sort of protection status, either National Park or Nature reserve. The Tropical Dry Forests differentiates itself from the Tropical Rainforests because it is situated in the North Pacific Coast and the Central Pacific Coast, The Nicoya Peninsula and other areas, including the Islands of the Gulf of Nicoya. Large trees, many insects, mammals and reptiles as well as birds live in the tropical dry forest. Some areas where you can appreciate the tropical dry forests are::: 1 - Santa Rosa National Park 2 – Carara 3 – Curu 4 – Ostional 5 - Santa Rosa National Park and Conservation Area and the Islands of Gulf of Nicoya. Costa Rica’s highlands have some of the world’s richest Cloud Forests. These amazing habitats are home to thousand of unique species of flora and fauna, some of them endemic, meaning they only exist in certain areas. The Cloud Forest is also a unique scenery for hikers, birdwatchers, sightseeing and biologists. The cool climate and fresh air makes it a favorite area for Honeymooners as well. Some of the most amazing Cloud Forests in Costa Rica are: Monteverde, Savegre Valley, San Gerardo de Dota, Talamanca and Chirripo and many areas of the Tilaran Mountain Range and the Guanacaste Mountain Range.
