Costa Rica whale watching

Costa Rica Central – South Pacific Coast is famous for whales that come near the coastline during most months of the year, except for May and June. The most frequent species are the Humpback Whales, which come from both the Northern Pacific Coast ( California and Canada ) and the ones coming from the South Pacific ( along the Coast of Chile and Peru ). The best areas to go and see whales are Uvita and Dominical ( The Coronado Bay is between Drake Bay and Uvita ). Further South, the area between Punta Burica, Golfo Dulce and Osa Peninsula are equally popular for whale sightings. Apart from Humpback whales, there are many species of dolphins and other species of whales, including the Pilot Whale, the Falsa Orca and the Orca or Killer Whales. The rest of the Pacific Coast is also famous for whales and dolphins, and recently, a larger group of Orcas or Killer Whales have been sighted near Cabo Blanco in the Nicoya Peninsula
