This tour immerses you in the rich Costa Rican culture and history by experiencing the beautiful museums and historical sites of San José. It begins with an orientation and drive through the beautiful Sabana Park. Next, we will take a walking tour through the historic National Theater. Completed in 1897, the theater is a masterpiece in art and architecture. Afterwards we will visit one of the many unique museums of Costa Rica. We will continue heading to the University of Costa Rica, the Supreme Court and various sites of interest. A brief stop will be made in Moravia allowing you to browse through the beautiful craft shops located in this area before returning to your hotel. |

Day 3: Early departure by land and boat to Tortuguero National Park through Braulio Carrillo National Park. All meals (B,L,D), visit to banana plantation & canal tour are included. Overnight Lodge in Tortuguero.
Day 4: Stay day at Tortuguero. Visits to Tortuguero town, Turtle Museum, Morning Canal Tour, Hiking tours and all meals (D,L,D) are included. Overnight Lodge in Tortuguero.
Day 5: Lodge breakfast and early departure by boat and land to La Fortuna town, where Arenal Volcano, our "Incredible Natural Monster" is located. Lunch include in Guápiles town. Overnight Hotel in Arenal. |

Poás Volcano National Park/Grecia/ Sarchí
(One day)

Departure time: 8:30 am approx
Length: 8 hours
We take the Pan-American Highway towards the city of Alajuela. En route we go by the Agriculture Monument, the Monument to Juan Santamaria and the famous Mango Park. As we ascend towards the volcano we stop for a brief explanation on our golden bean, coffee, and then continue our trip through fern, flower and strawberry farms. There is a noticeable change in temperature and vegetation, preparing us for the pleasure of the exuberant cloud forest of Poas Volcano.At the Volcano we will have time to enjoy the impressive main crater with its sulfur fumaroles, and hike on a trail to the beautiful Botos Lagoon as we learn about the different ecosystems in the park. After visiting the volcano, we will have time to enjoy a delicious lunch in one of the typical restaurants of the area. Our third stop is beautiful Grecia. Considered one of the cleanest towns of Latin America, it is home to the only Metal Church in Central America and a national monument that fills its inhabitants with pride. In order to catch a glimpse of local lifestyle we will also visit the central market area.Our last stop is Sarchi, known as the Cradle of Costa Rican Artisans because of its fine workshops. Here we will have time to enjoy the artistic work of the local artisans as they create the famous typical oxcart and you will be able to shop for that special souvenir to take home.
We recommend: light jacket, comfortable shoes, binoculars and camera. Overnight in San Jose.
Day 13: Hotel breakfast and transfer - out to the International Airport.
