The Hotel

El Encanto is a small high quality bed and breakfast hotel located within 5 minutes walking distance from the village of Cahuita on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. It is close to the Cahuita National Park where sloths, monkeys, birds and other types of wildlife can be seen. The closest beach is within 100 meters from El Encanto. The hotel has three tastefully decorated bungalows and a fully equipped apartment with kitchenette and satellite TV. In addition, it has a fully furnished house with three bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, living room and dining room. Each bedroom has a private bathroom and balcony. El Encanto is renowned for the quality of its personalized service, the generous and healthy tropical breakfasts, the beautiful surroundings and artwork. Above all, it is admired for the peace and serenity of its garden. It is a place that appeals specially to those for whom tranquility of the mind and spirit are priceless.

The rooms

Our rooms are nice, comfortable, cozy and tastefully decorated. Each room has a private bathroom, hot water, ceiling fan and balcony. Each room comes with either a queen size bed or a double and a single bed. A sense of intimacy and warmth emerge at the sight of the rooms.

An elegant and comfortable apartment is also available. It comes with a kitchenette, small living room and big balcony overlooking the garden. It also has satellite TV. It is perfect for honeymooners and for those who like refinement.

We also have a beautiful three bedroom house, with a living room, dining room and fully equipped kitchen. Each room has a private bathroom and balcony and can be rented out individually. The house is ideal for families or groups and can accommodate between 6 - 9 persons.

Facilities

A generous tropical breakfast is served every morning from our open air dining room and from where guests can admire the hundreds of birds flying in the garden. Guests can also watch satellite TV or just relax in the cozy and comfortable living room that also overlooks the garden.

The oriental pavilion has been designed to accommodate guests who wish to read, practice yoga or get a massage in a comfortable and beautiful setting. Or you can just spend lazy days next to the swimming pool, listen to the songs of the hummingbirds and the soothing sound of the cascading water.
For those who wish to combine vacation and spiritual practice, a Japanese zendo-style meditation room is available.

The garden

The garden is an enchantment for all the senses. An impression of paradise emanates from the various assortments of exotic trees and tropical flowers. A true garden of Eden, this oasis offers you the pleasure to look at a vast collection of bromeliads, orchids and heliconias.

Be it from the dining area or from the oriental pavilion where one can relax while reading a book, looking at the garden is a continuous enchantment where light, colors, forms celebrate tropical luxuriance. This garden is visited by all kinds of birds; even sloths seem to have adopted the place. One can also admire the various sculptures of bronze, ceramic and stone. As its name implies, El Encanto is truly an enchantment.
