Hotel
Casa Camarona
Puerto
Viejo
Costa Rica
The Hotel
Casa Camarona is
located right in front Blue Flag
award winning, 2 miles long Cocles
Beach just 10 minutes, south of
true Caribbean Puerto Viejo (Old
Port) and 20 minutes from Punta
Uva , Manzanillo and Gandoca National
Wildlife Refuge and nearby beaches.
We have new facilities designed
in a very rustic-exotic way according
to the architecture of the region;
cabins have no tv set, no telephone,
no newspapapers and have lots of
wood, wide corridors, rooms are
very well aired and of course, you
can enjoy the caribbean culture
and the exuberant flora and fauna
of the place.
The Hotel has three modules : The
first one has four rooms in the
first floor with a corridor in front
of them and on the second floor
there are four other rooms with
a corridor just in front (all rooms
have their own shower room and sea
view).
The second module is made up at
first level of five rooms and a
corridor in front of them with a
reading room at first level; on
the second floor four there are
four rooms (all rooms have their
own shower room and sea view).
The third module has the front
desk, the manager's office, the
kitchen with a self service area,
the bar (for 15 people seated at
the bar) and the restaurant for
50 people (all tables have sea view).
This area has a typical Caribbean
structure and totally open for full
ventilation. It is important to
remark that in our quest for improved
customer service, some of our facilities
offer easy access for the elder
and handicapped people.
For those persons that enjoy relaxing
at the beach, we offer at weekends
improvised Bar called "El Gallinero"
(The Henhouse) where you can drink
cold beer or rum with lemon, and
grab a snack.
Likewise, Casa Camarona offers
a safe parking lot for its guests,
laundry service, kayaks and the
chance to coordinate tours to the
various sites of tourist interest.
About the area
Puerto Viejo
Like Cahuita, the town of Puerto
Viejo offers many facilities to
ensure an enjoyable visit. Lodging
and travel companies and a tour
guide association offer trips to
other areas of Talamanca. There
are also excellent restaurants featuring
local and international cuisine,
as well as varied nightlife offering
traditional music and dancing from
the Costa Rican Caribbean
Manzanillo
This golden-sand beach stretches
north some 3.5 kilometers from the
town of Manzanillo to Punta Uva.
It has moderate to strong surf,
an irregular, curved shape, and
plentiful coastal vegetation, particularly
palms. Ideal for walking, horseback
riding, sunbathing and swimming,
this beach also offers diving in
several areas in front of the town
and near Punta Manzanillo. The 12-kilometer
road that connects all the beaches
south of Puerto Viejo ends in the
town of Manzanillo, which offers
numerous services including diving
gear rental and dolphin-watching
and dive tours.
