The name Hotel Pochote Grande is derived from the huge, old pochote tree (Bombacopsis quinatum) located directly behind our barbecue site. The tree, once called home by a boa constrictor, provides shade to many birds and animals such as owls, iguanas, squirrels and even a racoon family on occasion. If lucky enough you might even be able to observe Aras in its crown.
 Hotel Pochote Grande is a german owned and managed family business. Built in 1990, the 24 room property consists of 2 two-storey-buildings. It is surrounded by tropical gardens with old trees, a beautiful swimming pool forming the centre of the property and a gateway which leads directly onto the about 2.5 mile long sandy beach. If you travel by car, there is free parking available.
  Enjoy the quiet and friendly atmosphere of our big open-air terrasse, viewing the sun set, having a tropical cocktail at our bar, or a great breakfast in our restaurant, which is also very well known for its delicious barbecue dinners.
 This beach-front hotel is situated at the quiet northern end of the bay of Jacó. The town center is a 15 minute stroll down the sand or road. In Jacó you will find small typical restaurants, bars, discos, night clubs, fruit stands, minimarts, supermarkets, souvenir stores, pharmacies, doctors, dentists and banks.
 You may book daily tours through us, available to a range of national parks, such as for example Carara National Park, Manuel Antonio, to different vulcanoes, or to the capital San José, which is just a 1,5 hours drive away. You can also take horseback rides, go rafting, surf all day or just hang around the pool and relax. You may also book a rental car through us.
