Hotel Villa Lapas
Carara and Jaco Beach
Costa Rica
Villa Lapas's location
features an unique, privileged position
like no other hotel in the country.
A privileged, biological-rich
zone close to everything
The hotel is situated along the
border between the Tropical and
Dry Pacific eco-systems. This unique
situation allows our guests to benefit
twofold, allowing them to observe
over 400 species of birds as well
as exotic animals, such as the poison
dart frog, deer, jaguar, wild pigs,
bats, raccoons, anteaters, lizards
and several types of monkeys (spider
monkey and congo) and other jungle
creatures. All of this at a mere
90 minutes away (by road) from San
José and the Juan Santamaría
International Airport!
Near reserves, rivers and
protected areas
Villa Lapas's private natural reserve
limits with that of Carara Biological
Reserve, one of the biggest protected
areas in the Costa Rican Pacific
featuring one of the few remaining
populations of Scarlet Macaws in
the country, and with the Tárcoles
River, home of many crocodiles that
can be easily seen from the river
bridge, and a favorite birdwatching
spot as well.
From cruise to jungle and back
Cruise travelers take note: The
Caldera port in the Pacific Ocean
is just 30 minutes away from Villa
Lapas (see map below), so you can
easily plan your crusing schedule
to get a taste of the exotic Costa
Rican rainforest and our first-class
service!
Fun and sun are at your
reach too!
We are just minutes away from the
best beaches in the Pacific, the
busting beach-towns of Jacó,
Herradura, Playa Hermosa (a longtime
favorite spot with surfers) and
the marvelous Manuel Antonio beaches
and national park. To say our location
is strategic would be an understatement.
