The
Lookout
Playa Uvita Costa Rica
The Lookout Inn is located in Costa
Rica on the "Osa Peninsula"
at the extreme end of the road in
Carate. We are ideally situated to
offer comfortable eco-friendly accommodations
to the traveler visiting this remote
part of Costa Rica.
This is the Primary Entry Point to
"Corcovado National Park"
which is considered one of the world's
great wildlife reserves. A guided
tour into the park is an unforgettable
experience.
The Lookout Inn is nestled in the
hillside along the coast overlooking
the Pacific Ocean and Corcovado National
Park.
Venture away from the comfort of
the Lookout Inn each morning and enjoy
the Largest Protected Tract of Pacific
Coast Rainforest remaining in the
Western Hemisphere, and yet return
to a comfortable room at the end of
a long day of exploring. And best
of all, The Lookout Inn is very affordable
(see Reservations for pricing).
The wildlife here is absolutely extraordinary,
the plant life more diverse than you
will find anywhere in the world, and
the butterflies, other insects and
birds will just blow you away. Visit
the waterfalls and climb the Stairway
to Heaven.
The Lookout Rooms
The guest rooms each have their own
spacious bathroom, hot water shower,
and fan. The tile floors and baths
add a luxurious touch. The custom
made doors are uniquely carved by
a local craftsman and a creative artist
has done some lovely mural work on
the insides of the rooms. The furniture,
which includes armoires, tables, chairs,
and queen sized beds are a mix of
bamboo, wicker, and indigenous woods.
The rooms are kept cool and quiet
by the concrete construction, 10 foot
high ceilings, and lack of direct
sunlight.See the Rooms Photo Index

The Lookout Private Cabins
The private guest cabinas each have
a bathroom with hot water, private
balconies and hammocks. There are
paths to the beach, pool & house.
Use of wood throughout the cabinas
give a sense of warmth yet the open
air style allows the cooling effect
of the ocean breezes to waft though
the cabinas. The furniture, which
includes armoires, tables, chairs,
and queen sized beds are a mix of
bamboo, wicker, and indigenous woods.
The Lookout Master Suite
The master suite is larger than the
normal rooms, is on the main deck
with great views and hammocks in front
overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It
has a huge cement tub with shower
and 2 sinks, along with netting over
the bed, fan & lights, a wonderful
room for honeymooners. See the Master

The Lookout Tiki Huts
These open air A-Frame Tiki Huts
are 10 feet off the ground, giving
you a tree house feeling, on a living
hillside. Each hut has a queen bed,
table and chairs, fan, lights and
netting surrounding your bed. Staying
with our eco-friendly philosophy,
solar will power the fan & lights.
You are surrounded by a colorful garden
mixed with orchids, flowers, banana
and fruit trees, jungle growth, giant
Joba trees full of Iguanas and scarlet
macaws. Enjoy the walk from the bottom
deck onto the boardwalk winding around
trees and garden area, down a few
steps to your private entrance. This
walkway rolls through the hilly garden
to the horse corral, to the beach
and also passes a hammock and chair
platform high above, a perfect place
for yoga or just waiting for that
Kodak moment. The two Tiki huts are
separate cabins completely out of
view from the other with a central
bathhouse in the middle. This wild
bathhouse is very private for the
guests but exposed to the animal kingdom
with the open front facing the ocean
and the jungle life; it’s the
greatest shower you’ll take.
If you’re wanting to be ‘one’
with nature, you can’t get much
closer than this. See the Tiki Hut

National Park, in the beautiful Osa
