Hacienda la Ensenada is a National Wildlife Refuge. Located on the Pacific Coast in the province of Puntarenas, on the Gulf of Nicoya only 2:30 hours from San José, and 1:25 hours from Liberia.
 
It is an ideal place for Horseback Riding; for naturalists, bird watchers and nature lovers. The most important activities of this ranch are cattle and horses, the production of salt and fruit (Papaya and water melon).
It is also a paradise where you will find the perfect point of balance between peace, excitement and adventure.

We offer accommodations on comfortable villas facing the Gulf: with bathroom, hot water, with closet and spacious terrace, from which you enjoy an unforgettable sunset relaxing in a hammock, swimming pool, restaurant, cabins for guide and driver.

Because of its family management, our guests have the opportunity to participate in the daily activities of the farm, as well as back riding assisted by trilingual guide (Spanish, Italian and English). You will become part of the typical life of Costa Rican ranch. The gulf of Nicoya, the mangroves and the salina offer those who love birds and photography many different species and variety of birds such as pelicans, herons, parrots, Montezuma oropendula, bellbird, white iris, great egret, etc.
