The Britannia Hotel in San José Costa Rica, reflects an elegant, classic and distinguished atmosphere, that is evident in our services, rooms, bar, restaurant, common meeting and reading areas, and others. Strategically located in the heart of Barrio Amón, an historical area dating back to the colonial times of this city, near to San José downtown and just 25 minutes from the international airport Juan Santamaria. Rounded by many point of tourist interest of the city, such as historical museums, buildings, Central Market, night life spots, National Theater, etc. We offer all the necessary services such as: tourist information, tours, car rental, currency exchange, mail, Internet access, transportation facilities, restaurants, souvenirs, etc. Daily we made an effort to offer the best service to the greater quality to satisfy the necessities of our guests, offering an pleasant and familiar atmosphere maintaining the name of the Britannia Hotel as exclusive feature and distinction that has always characterized it.

Conserving the structure and style of the original mansion build back in 1910, made with walls of heavy bent brick, high ceilings and illuminated windows the create in the Hotel a classical Victorian atmosphere. Scenery with a precious wall paper, carpets, mosaics and the furniture at English style, that contrasts with a tropical garden.

The BRITANNIA Hotel is divided in two parts, one is the old house that have five Deluxe rooms, and five Junior Suite. In this section is located the Restaurant, which used to be the wine Cellar of the mansion, appropriately named "The Cellar", the new part of the Hotel consists in four additional floors with an elevator, where the fourteen Standard rooms and a reading lobby are located.

Rooms

We offer three types of rooms, the Standard, Deluxe and Junior Suite.

The standard rooms in the new building have: television with cable, telephone, bathroom with hot water and bathtub, safe-deposit box, with a king bed or two single beds. The Deluxe rooms and Junior. Suite, located in the house, has additionally, a writing-desk, hair dryer in the bath and with one or two king beds.

Restaurant and Bar

The old wine Cellar has been turned in to our restaurant, appropriately named "The Cellar" which has a capacity of 50 persons, we are open for breakfast, lunch (from Monday to Friday) and dinner. The chef specializes in international and traditional dishes, a great variety of wines and any type of drinks.
