Snorkeling Tour
You will visit the many unique marine and terrestrial ecosystems of Cahuita National Park; its one of the most beautiful regions of the country. Its main attraction is a picture postcard reality of white sandy beaches, thousands of swaying palm trees, a calm sea of crystal-clear water and a live coral reef. In a glass fiber boat, plus Capitan and guide, you will be able to appreciate: 35 different coral species such as: The fire coral, Elkhorn and the Smooth brain coral; 123 different species of tropical fish such as: Queen Angelfish and Blue parrot fish; 44 species of crustaceans, 140 shellfish, 128 identified algae. Other species such as: sea urchins, sea cucumber, lobsters, sponges, hawksbill turtle and green turtle. You can practice the snorkelling for 2 or 3 hours, in different places of the most important Coral Reef of Costa Rica.
After the snorkelling, the boat’s Capitan will take you to Cahuita Point. Right there, if you want, you can swim in the peaceful and warm water of the Caribbean Sea while you take a refreshment of tropical fruits.
Hiking
In this tour there is also the option to enjoy the diversity of the forest on a hike in the Park where you will see many different species of flora and fauna, such as: Howler monkeys, White-faced monkey, Two-and Three-toed sloth, iguanas, spiders, Morpho’s butterflies, birds, snakes and much more. Cahuita has a mixed forest with a lot of different kinds of trees and medicinal plants such as: Noni, the wonder fruit, which prevents 89 different kinds of illnesses.
The guide will make a hike through the trail of the National Park, showing you the animals and the medicinal plants, and telling you the interesting history of Cahuita Town.
At the end the guide will take you to the restaurant “El TÃpico Cahuita†to enjoy a delicious Caribbean Lunch. “Rice & Beansâ€, chicken or fish with coconut source, green salad, sweet plantain, dessert and juice.

Cahuita National Park

Cahuita National Park is one of the most beautiful regions of the country. Its main attraction is a picture postcard reality of white sandy beaches, thousands of swaying palm trees, a calm sea of crystal-clear water and a live coral reef.
The Tour consists of a hike through the trail of the National Park of 9 to 11 km. approximately. From our office (Cahuita Tours) in the community of Cahuita, get in to the National Park, through the Sector of White Beach, up to Sector of Puerto Vargas, passing by beautiful and private beaches where you can relax and swim in the calm water of the Caribbean sea for a while.
The Guide will tell you the History of Cahuita Town, also he will show you medicinal plants and a great amount of animals.
The tour ends at the administration of the Sector of Puerto Vargas, where transportation will take you to the restaurant to eat a delicious traditional lunch in the community of Cahuita.
Animals you can possible see:
° Mammals: Howler monkeys, White-faced monkey, two and three toed sloth, racoons, squirrels, anteater beard, armadillos.
°Reptiles: green iguanas, Central American Whiptail, crocodiles and snakes such as: Oropel, Bocaraca, Mica, Boa, Coral, Bejuquilla and others.

Artesanal fishing

Local Traditional Fishing
This tour takes place in the surroundings of Cahuita National Park in a glass fibber boat with outboard motors of 15 to 25 H.P. with local fishermen as guides.
Different fishing methods can be used, for example:
° Fishing using live bait
° Fishing using dead bait or deep fishing
° Fishing using fishing pull and an artificial lure.
It is also possible to enjoy Snorkeling while the guide captures live bait from around the reef.
The types of fish that might be caught include:

Bri Bri

Bri-Bri Indigenous Reserve
On this tour you will visit the Green Iguana farm and medicinal plant garden at the Kekoldi Native Reserve that is a big rural touristy attraction Place where a small indigenous family dedicates itself to the reproduction of the Green Iguana (Iguana iguana), species that was on the way to extinction and thanks to initiatives like these to state recovering. Also a route by the Garden of Medicinal Plants will be made, that the natives by hundreds of years have used. This tour is guided by a local guide.
We continued soon to the Bri-Bri Indigenous Reserve by where we arrived at the community of Suretka, to the margins of the Telire river, place where the product market of the reservation takes place (bananas, banana trees, cacao, oranges, coconuts, etc.). It is possible to emphasize that these products in their totality are organic. After coexisting with the neighbours, you will enjoy some fresh tropical fruits snack (watermelon, pineapple, mango, melon, maracuya, papaya, etc.) and potable water. Then the Waterfall is visited. Considered by the Natives as Sacred, where you will be able to refresh yourself in the clean water, of this place full of energy.
After the Waterfall you will visit the group of women of ACOMUITA, that elaborate Organic Indigenous Chocolate. Right there you will be able to share and to learn of the manufacture process of the Chocolate.
Finally a typical lunch, based on rice with species and vegetables, beans, salad with banana vinegar, fried green banana, fried pig or chicken in sauce, fried sweet banana, coffee and dessert, will be waiting for you.

Horseback riding

Horseback Riding Tour in Cahuita
In this tour we offer strong and healthy horses to ride in the Cahuita’s Black Beach section, part of the Cahuita’s Mountains up to the Mouth of “La Estrella River”.
It’s a Beach-Forest Tour with a bilingual native guide that will show you the flora and fauna of the humid tropical forest and also the different magic places of the Costa Rican South Caribbean, while you enjoy a tropical fruit’s snack.
We select the appropriate horse according to the rider’s ability.

Tortuguero

COMBO A : One Day Tour
We pick up people in the different hotels in the area of Cahuita and Puerto Viejo at 06:30 . We leave the area and arrive at 08:30 A.M. at the Moin Harbour, were we get on the boats and go towards Tortuguero National Park.
Enjoy the magical nature and rainforests that will surround us on the way to the famous park.
We arrive in Tortuguero at approximately 11:30 – 12:00. First we will visit the town of Tortuguero included the Turtle Museum and the local stores. After, we will enjoy a delicious lunch before we head back through the canals back to Moin. Here, we will board to Mini Van again that will bring us back to Cahuita and Puerto Viejo.
Gear: Cap, sun block, shades, light clothing, sandals or comfortable walking shoes, passport or I.D.

Bocas del Toro

COMBO A: Tour of one day:
“Bocas del Toro Islands” are located right across the Costa Rican border in the Caribbean zone of Panama. This area is known for its great cultural and biological diversity, for the many islands and inlets found there and for the great expanse of coral reef that surrounds them. It is one of the few places in the world where you can snorkel almost every day of the year.
The tour begins at 6 a.m., the pick-up is at your Hotel. The transportation will take you to Sixaola (Costa Rican border) to make migratory transaction and also at Guabito (Panamanian border). After that transportation will take you to “Finca 60” or “Puerto Almirante” (depending on the weather conditions) to board a fast boat to Colon’s Island, where, another boat is waiting for you to take you on tour through the other nearby islands like: Bastimento and Zapatilla National Parks. The guide will show you the best posts to practice the Snorkeling.
You will eat a delicious Caribbean lunch, in Coral Key’s restaurant. The restaurant is built in the water and you can also practice snorkeling there.
Finally you will return to Costa Rica. The drop-off at the hotel is at 6 p.m. approximately.

COMBO B: Tour two days and one night:
Day One: The tour begins at 6 a.m. you will be picked up from your Hotel. Gandoca Manzanillo

The Wildlife Refuge is located on the Caribbean Coast near the Panamanian border and hosts innumerable amount of flora and fauna. The Refuge's natural conditions make it an extremely interesting destination for scientists and for nature lovers. Its scenic beauty and its exuberant vegetation shelter a fan of multicolor ethnic groups that have found in this place their home.
In Gandoca- Manzanillo, the forest in its majority is very diverse and colorful where in addition are many species of birds, mammals and other species of the tropical animal. You will have a hiking tour in the reserve for around 2 hours, where you might found the wild inhabitants of the rainforest including: Toucans, trogons, jacamar, plus mammals like the Two-and Three-Toed sloth and monkeys; also you can find river turtles, green iguanas, crocodiles and snakes. Also you can appreciate trees with hundred of years.
Gandoca is one of the most important places in the world for the laying of eggs of the Leather Back Turtle.
Additionally, you can experience how the Afro-Caribbean and indigenous cultures live in harmony with nature.

Dolphin tour

DESCRIPTION
We will pick you up at your hotel to depart to Manzanillo. There we leave the car and take a boat to the area of water encompassing south of Punta Mona to the border of Panama, which is the best area for watching the different species of dolphins. Upon request the captain will take us to various snorkeling locations depending on sea conditions.
Rafting

Duration: 1 day
Includes: Transportation, breakfast, lunch, guide, equipment.
Recommendations: Bathing suit, towel and dry clothes.
TOUR DESCRIPTION:
We depart from the hotel and leave toward Siquirres where we will have time for breakfast.
After breakfast we will go to the Pacuare river where the guide will be waiting with the necessary equipment and boats to go down (before you need to listen a security and orientation speech). We offer a class III-IV going down 28 kms of rapids where the fun is definitely guaranteed.
On the road we will enjoy lunch. After the rafting about 3,5 hours we arrive to Siquirres where we will find
bathrooms and dressing rooms. From there we will return to Puerto Viejo or San José, which is previously decided.
Canopy

Duration: 4:’00 hours aprox.
Includes: Transportation, naturalist guide, fruits and beverages, full equipment.

DESCRIPTION
When we get there we will start with a walk to the first platform and after the first short cable we will begin a guided walk through the rainforest. At the end of the walk, we will start our adventure on cable again.
The canopy is done by 9 aerial platforms and 11 on the ground, being the total length of the cable of 2150 meters. During the tour on the top of the trees the naturalist guide will keep on explaining about the vegetation and animals of the surroundings.
Sea Kayaking and Manzanillo

This tour begins with a drive to the southern end of the road into the most remote location in the area; this trip consists of a loop, paddling in and hiking out. After a safety briefing we will embark in a magical kayaking journey paralleling a coast full of cliffs, caves, and the most amazing rainforest.
We will take a nice break at the beach to relax, swim and enjoy some nicely presented fresh fruit and snacks before hiking back to manzanillo town; you will now learn some insights on the eco system of this wildlife refuge.

Rio La Estrella and Sloth Sanctuary

This trip is a great combination of adventure and learning experiences. After a safety briefing we will take you kayaking on Rio La Estrella which offers a fine paddling experience for the first timer. Our sit-on-top double kayaks provide great stability to negotiate the Class I rapids of this scenic river, where you will be surrounded by canyon walls covered with Rainforest. The adventure goes on when we visit the Aviarios del Caribe Sloth Sanctuary with a recovery project that will give you a first hand learning experience about these amazing creatures; a lecture will be given followed by a interaction time with Buttercup and the other sloths.
