Sky Tram

 

Fly up to the Continental Divide.It’s a high technology cableway that includes a ride of 1600 meters (both ways) with altitudes between 1400 and 1600 m.a.s.l. The Sky Tram will lead you up to the Continental Divide and to one of the highest mountains of Monteverde. Sky Tram is a guided tour and you can have the opportunity of intermediate the ride with short stops to observe the cloud forest biodiversity, the Arenal, Tenorio, Miravalles and Orosi volcanoes, the Nicoya gulf, and the Guanacaste plain if the weather allows it. The gondolas have been adapted even for people with some disability.

Sky Walk is a guided tour, which combines trails and suspension bridges with lengths of even 984 feet and heights above the canopy of Monteverde cloud forest. The tour gives you the opportunity to enjoy the flora and fauna of the area, always joined by one of our specialized guides. The tour lasts between 2 and 2.5 hours. Sky Walk reunites all the conditions of security and confidence. The bridges have been adapted even for people with some disability. Departure schedules: 8:00 a.m - 10.00 a.m - 1:00 p.m

 

Sky Trek

 

Zip through nature. Sky Trek is a system of zip lines ranging from mountain to mountain, which together have a distance of 2.5 miles of linear cable. The tour gives you the opportunity to fly through a cable and have a unique experience of adventure and adrenaline at speeds up to 40 miles per hour with distances ranging up to 2500 feet and heights of 524 feet. In addition the tour offers 5 observation towers that exceed the cloud forest treetops providing a panoramic view. All with total security and in an innovative braking system.The tour starts with the Sky Tram that will lead you up to the Continental Divide. General conditions:

-For security children under 8 years old cannot take the tour.

-Sky Trek is a complementary tour of Sky Tram it can’t be sold separately.

-People over 100 kilograms weight (217 pounds) most be evaluated by our technical staff (according to his/her height and physical condition) our staff will determine if they can take the tour. Departure schedules: 7:30 a.m - 9.30 a.m - 11:30, 1:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.

The popular town of Monteverde is located in the province of Puntarenas. Natural History Walks

 

at the Monteverde Biological Preserve with three options: Enjoy of the forest and its habitat, discover the amazing relationship of humankind with biological and physical resources, you will be joined by an experienced guide inside a complete harmonious environment. You will walk through the forest for two to two and a half hours, joined by one of our specialized guides with the necessary equipment to get real close to the life that is born and that flourishes inside this splendorous Monteverde Cloud Forest.

Night Tour

A walk that starts at dusk! Its purpose is experience along with a guide of the life of the forest during the change between day and night, some species will be returning to their homes and others will be actually starting their activity cycle and feeding. Also if the weather favors clients will enjoy of an spectacular sunset that will provide marvelous photographs and will help visitors appreciate the beauty of our area. Visit to the Biological Station

 

(strong walk) // MINIMUM OF TWO CLIENTS WITHOUT EXCEPTION
This “Full Day Tour” is designed for the strong walks lovers, sport people and adventurers. Pick up from hotels around the Monteverde Area start around 7:00 AM to take them to the starting point (Selvatura Park), the tour is conducted by an experienced guide knowledgeable of the area. The first rest stop will be taken at the Biological Station where you will receive a welcome explanation of the mission, vision and objectives of the Biological Station, here you will be able to use toilets and then continue on with a trek through the forest where you will get to choose between several trails such as “El Saino”, “La Catarata”, “Tabacon” and “El Congo”.
Recommend for people 15 years of age or older with good physical conditions.

 

 

The availability of this service at the lake is subject to the regulations of the Marine Law and the policies of the ICE (Costarican Institute of Electricity) who owns the lake.

 

“ONE DAY TOUR” Package Arenal - Monteverde

 

Clients are picked up from the Arenal area and are taken to the shores of the Lake Arenal where they will board our boat to cross the lake in approximately 35 minutes. Once on the other side one of our transportations will be waiting to take them to the Heliconia Ranch where they will be able to use toilets and stop for a small 10 minute regional coffee tasting brake. From there our clients will travel directly to Selvatura Park where they will do the activities that they prefer (options attached).
Once they have completed the tours, they will be picked up and taken to Mediterráneo Restaurant at Hotel Heliconia where clients will be able to choose their favorite dish from the menu, after lunch they will be taken back to the shores of Lake Arenal and will cross the lake again to take our van transportation to deliver them at their hotels.

It is a horseback ride inside a private ranch with over 260 acres of extension where beautiful landscapes and forest trails provide a complete horseback riding experience. Selvatura Park Treetop Walkways

(Hanging Bridges)

Outstanding Structures that Take You Into New Heights Selvatura's Treetop Walkways is a 1.9 mile (approximately 3 kilometer) trail that crosses through the cloud forest, in which our visitors will walk through eight different bridges from various lengths ranging between 150 feet (50 meters) up to 510 feet (170 meters) and altitudes ranging between 36 feet (12 meters) up to 180 feet (60 meters). Each of the bridges feature a five foot width, the widest ones in the country, and also a capacity of up to 80 people per bridge making them both the longest and strongest bridge system in Costa Rica. The treetop walkways are suitable for people of all ages and physical condition. Guided and self guided tours may be booked in advance, and the duration of the tour is usually between 1.5 and 2 hours.

The Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve is situated 7 km northwest of Santa Elena town. The Cloud Forest Reserve is an exceptional hiking experience. The Santa Elena Cloud Forest is a wonderland of green lushness. Giant tree ferns, bamboo and palm trees grow abundantly in the under story, while thick moss covered liana vines dangle from the canopy. Monteverde Trainforest

Description of the Tour:

This tour has an expanse of six kilometers, 40% of which are in open areas, and 60% of which are in the rainforest. The train passes over four bridges and goes through a tunnel. The entire trip lasts approximately 90 minutes. The principal destination is a lookout point from which one can observe Arenal Lake and Arenal Volcano as well as the nature reserves of Monteverde, along with other marvels. The Trainforest is appropriate for all types of people, from small children to adults and those with physical limitations. Our project is intended to complement existing activities in Monteverde, thus guaranteeing optimum satisfaction for our visitors so that you might enjoy this attraction with your whole family.

 

El Trapiche Tour

 

El Trapiche tour, is a project of a Costa Rican family, which offers a guided tour for approximately 2 hours.The tour begins with a walk through the farm, which may have an opportunity to observe the different plantations, besides crossing a small area of forest where occasionally you can see wildlife.   During the tour in the farm you can see a project of tilapia (kind of fish), banana plantations, bananas, arracache, macadamia nuts, oranges, sugar cane and coffee. During the walk around the land, the guide explains the process involved in growing sugar cane, natural history and also provides an opportunity to taste the sugar cane and its various derivatives.
Once this is over we will show you the process of coffee, starting from the planting and continues with the process of crushing, peeled and roasted by machines.
