Detailed description
of activities
Day #1
Upon arrival at the Tropical Center, you
will experience direct contact with tropical
rainforest. Afternoon at leisure, you
can either relax or walk along our property
and trails. After dinner, you can watch
an interesting video on Corcovado National
Park.
Day #2
We will take an early breakfast at the
Center, after which we will leave towards
the Park. The trip to and from the Park
will be on wagon pulled by a tractor or
rural truck. This park protects the last
remnant of tropical rain forest on the
Pacific coast of Central America. It covers
over 40.000 hectares of primary forest,
home for a great variety of species of
flora and fauna; including heliconias,
frogs, butterflies, small mammals, snakes,
fig trees. This will be the only time
during the program when you will be in
a primary forest.
We will cross Rincón River several
times and will follow its bank for approximately
an hour, until you reach the trail to
"Los Patos" ranger station inside
the park. Wood slabs have been dug into
the trail at intervals to offer foothold,
making the 3-kilometer walk to the station
(1 1/2-hour) very enjoable. Once we arrive,
we’ll have a snack. The station
has bathroom facilities. After having
a light snack, we’ll hike on a trail
that leads to a waterfall where you can
bathe and will enjoy your lunch. The magnificent
scenery of a primary forest will remain
on your memory! Later, we will return
to the Center. Usually, the arrival time
back at the TC is around 4pm. Free time
at the TC to relax.
Day #3
After waking up with the sounds of the
tropical rainforest, you will enjoy breakfast
on a natural environment. Morning and
afternoon will be at leisure. After dinner,
get ready for an extraordinary night walk.
Open your senses to enjoy the scents,
sights and sounds of the rain forest’s
nightlife.
Day #4
Enjoy breakfast before you leave our TC.
Have a nice trip!
