Aerial Tram

This attraction is a unique ecotourism and
research facility that takes visitors through
the rain forest canopy and its hanging gardens
of plants and hidden animals. Home to two-thirds
of all rain forest species, the rain forest
canopy is a little-known world of tremendous
beauty and extraordinary biological diversity.
Once we get to the Aerial Tram, we will
go to the Visitors Center, where you will
watch an explanatory video and prepare to
enjoy a 45 minute walk through the trails
which are enjoyed by birdwatchers from all
around the world, accompanied by a naturalist
guide.
Now we take the Aerial
Tram for approximately 90 minutes. During
the first part of the trip, we’ll
travel through the inferior and medium levels
of the forest. On the way back we pass through
the best part of the tour: the top part
of the forest – the canopy. The highest
point is 35 meters from the ground. Once
back at the boarding area, we will go for
lunch and later return to San Jose right
on time to rest and prepare for a great
night in the city.

Rafting Pacuare
( 1 Day )
(Class III - IV)

The tour starts between
6:00 and 7:00 a. m when our microbuses pick
up the adventurers in the main hotels of
the metropolitan area.
A Costa Rican breakfast is offered at around
8:00 a.m. in a Paraíso, Cartago town
restaurant with a spectacular view of the
Orosi Valley.
Then we arrive to Tres Equis, Turrialba,
a town where our guides wait for us with
the equipment to start this wonderful adventure.
Each participant will receive a life jacket,
a helmet and a paddle. One of the guides
will give a safety speech and a small practice
before facing whitewater rafting like Huacas,
Cimarrones and Dos Montañas.
Pacuare is considered the most beautiful
river in Costa Rica, and worldwide one of
the best whitewater rafting rivers due to
the scenic beauty, waterfalls, hiking trails
and diversity of flora and fauna, among
which participants will observe blue morpho
butterflies, sloths, tucans, red frogs and
great variety of birds. Thus, nature is
present throughout the route.
This is a 3.5-hour journey
with approximately 18 miles length. The
minimum age for participants is 12 years
old.
Once the river journey
is finished, our customers are moved to
a restaurant in Siquirres, Limón
for a shower and a typical lunch.
We return to San José
and leave rafters in their hotels between
5:30 and 6:30 p.m.
Rafting Reventazon

Reventazón River - Pejibaye River
“Born in the foothill
of Cordillera de Talamanca, extended throughout
the Jiménez canton and surrounded
by the picturesque Tucurrique and Pejibaye
towns is the beautiful Pejibaye river, one
of the most important natural areas in this
region due to its crystalline water and
its rain forest. It is adequate for rafting
as people of any age can enjoy completely
by mixing adrenaline with landscape beauty.

The tour starts in Alajuela,
crossing San José and the Cartago
province (the first capital of the country);
we take a look at the Apóstol Santiago
Ruins and the Los Ángeles Virgin
Bassilica that keeps Los Ángeles
Virgin, the Costa Rican Patron. Immediately,
we arrive at Sanchirí Restaurant
and Mirador in Paraíso de Cartago
for an excellent typical breakfast. Then,
we continue to the Pejibaye town crossing
the Cachí Hydroelectric Dam (the
first in our country) and observe plantations
of “chayotes”, “pejibayes”,
ferns and coffee as well as the majestic
Velo de Novia waterfall.
At around 9:30 a.m. we meet the rest of
the team in Taus, a town where rafting guides
and kayakers deliver life jackets, helmets
and paddles. They will be waiting for you
enthusiastically to offer a day full of
emotions through the water of this wonderful
river. They will also give a safety speech
and once you are prepared into the boat,
your life adventure is about to start!
This section of the Pejibaye river has class
II and III rafting ideal for nature lover
adventurers and for family joy. During the
two hour journey you can admire a great
variety of birds like: toucans, herons and
cormorants, and the end of the journey will
be a peaceful rest crossing La Angostura
Dam lake in Turrialba, where we can leave
the paddles and enjoy the beautiful site.
We will dock beside the lake for a shower,
change clothes and transportation to Sanchirí
Restaurant & Mirador crossing Turrialba.
Their personnel will be waiting for us with
a delicious lunch and then, we will return
to San José using the same departure
route.
Arenal Volcano &
Baldi Hot Springs

Located north of Costa
Rica, the impressive Arenal Volcano is a
natural phenomenon that attracts thousands
and thousands of tourists due to its permanent,
extraordinary and trusted volcanic activity,
which on clear nights can seem like fireworks
with intermittent explosions of ash and
lava.
In order to get to this wonder from nature
we must go to the north of the country,
and inevitably we must make a stop in the
famous town of Sarchi, of international
fame, it has earned the name Birthplace
of Costa Rica’s Artisans. As we continue
our trip we will go thru diverse plantations
with agricultural products, ornamental plants
and cattle ranches until we arrive at La
Fortuna, for lunch in a cozy restaurant
right in front of the volcano. This excellent
location will allow us the best view in
order to catch any volcanic activity.
Before entering the beautiful
gardens where the thermal springs are located
we will visit Arenal Lake. Here we can easily
walk on a road next to the Park where we
will look for toucans, monkeys, coatimundis
and other animals. Due to security reasons
we will not enter the park.
Later we will relax in one of the best thermal
water places in the area where you will
be able to enjoy an optional massage or
other treatment that you will have reserved
ahead of time.
Last, a wonderful dinner
will be served with a great view of the
volcano so you will not miss any opportunities
of to look out for the incandescent light
explosions.
After dinner we will begin our return trip
to the city of San Jose.

Irazú Volcano,
Orosi Valley &
Lankester Gardens

We take the Panamerican
Highway South, to start ascending the large
“Iztaru”. The winding road travels
through fertile lands cultivated with all
kinds of vegetables as we observe a lovely
panoramic view. On the top of the volcano
you can observe the main craters and on
a clear day both the Atlantic and Pacific
Oceans can be seen.
As we descend to the city
of Cartago we will stop at the Virgin of
the Angels Basilica that according to religious
custom is a peregrination site for many
believers. After visiting the Basilica we
will stop at Lankester Gardens, a University
of Costa Rica Center for investigation that
protects more than 800 species of orchids
and bromeliads and countless species of
other plants.
We will continue on to
the Valley of Orosi where creation overflows
in unparallel beauty. We will be able to
visit one of the few remaining colonial
churches and we will stop for lunch in one
of the local restaurants.
During our tour we will be able to observe
La Casa Del Soñador an example of
Costa Rican primitive art.

Canopy Tour San
Lorenzo

Definitely an adventure
you can’t miss. We depart the city
towards the mountains that surround the
Central Valley, with scenery of spectacular
vegetation and extensive coffee plantations,
ornamental plants and picturesque typical
towns of Costa Rica. As we ascend, we will
enjoy the climatic changes of our country.
This is an experience that is enjoyed only
once, as we slide from one platform to the
next flying thru the canopy. Canopy San
Lorenzo is located in the middle of a tropical
forest reserve in a beautiful area full
of orchids, bromeliads and other ornamental
plants.
The sliding cable is divided
into two parts:
-The forest section, which starts with small
cables so the passenger will acquire confidence
while admiring the forest’s canopy
and
- The adventure section, with much longer
cables suspended from high platforms that
require large doses of adrenaline.
The total length of the cable is 2500 meters
or 8.202,10 ft. There are 19 platforms and
the San Lorenzo Canopy offers a 750-meter
or 2.460,63 feet cable, the longest one
in the country.
From one platform to the
next the guide will explain the most important
features of the forest. Finally, after only
a short walk, we will have a delicious lunch
in the restaurant Gran Vista.

a not so long past.

We take the Pan-American Highway towards
the city of Alajuela. In route we go by
the Agriculture Monument, the Monument to
Juan Santamaria and the famous Mango Park.
As we ascend towards the volcano we stop
for a brief explanation on our golden bean,
coffee, and then continue our trip through
fern, flower and strawberry farms.
There is a noticeable change
in temperature and vegetation, preparing
us for the pleasure of the exuberant cloud
forest of Poas Volcano.
At the Volcano we will have time to observe
the impressive main crater with its sulfur
fumaroles. Then we will hike on a trail
to the beautiful Botos Lagoon that will
allow us to learn about the different ecosystems
in the park. We will continue our trip towards
the Caribbean, stopping to discover La Paz
Waterfall Gardens, a natural park where
we will walk thru spectacular trails which
will take us to White Magic Waterfall, the
most spectacular one in the area. Inside
the park we will also visit the largest
butterfly observatory in the country that
houses a collection of tropical jewels and
the impressive hummingbird gallery, serpentarium,old
house, bird house & frogs exhibit
Once we have finished our
walk we will partake of a delicious lunch
buffet and then begin our return trip to
San Jose.

in One, we take the Pan-American road to

After lunch we will continue on the Atlantic
slope and once we arrive at Puerto Viejo

Before returning to San Jose we will drive
thru unforgettable Braulio Carrillo National
Park, one of the most important tropical
rain forest reserves in Costa Rica.

the Pacific coast via the Old Spanish Road
of 1606, briefly stopping along the way
for breakfast.
Once we arrive to our first destination,
we will ride a boat along the Tarcoles River.
Our guides will take us into a world of
crocodiles, water and migratory birds.
After our boat ride we
will visit one of the most beautiful protected
areas, Punta Leona Resort, an exotic paradise
surrounded by 750 hectares of transitional
tropical wet forest to tropical dry forest,
which is characteristic of this region.
The beauty of its white sands and deep blue
ocean are particular to the Pacific.
You will have all day free to enjoy this
beautiful place and to enjoy the optional
activities such as water sports, bathing
in the crystal waters of the ocean or using
the hotel pools. The tour includes a delicious
lunch served in one of the local restaurants.
In the afternoon you may
wish to enjoy an optional guided walk thru
the jungle. Taking only one and a half hours
it is a good opportunity to observe wild
life such as reptiles, amphibians and scorpions.
Sunset in Punta Leona is
an extraordinary experience, which we will
enjoy, and after this spectacular view we
will return to San Jose.
