The Terraba River is Costa Rica’s largest river. It has been of great importance for many indigenous tribes, especially the Bruncas, Borucas and many more. The Terraba River starts high in the Talamanca Range, near Mount Chirripo. Terraba is also of great importance as a transportation way, many local fishermen, boaters and farmers can only reach populated areas floating down the river. Some of Terraba River`s highlights are it river delta and the large mangrove forests.
