Playa Santa Teresa beach is a gorgeous strip of white sand beaches located in the southernmost tip of the Nicoya Peninsula, this destination is often confused with Mal Pais and although both are basically the same, Santa Teresa refers to the beaches and little coastal community to the right after the Playa Carmen Crossroad while Mal Pais makes reference to the beaches to the left at the crossroad. But again, it is basically the same area. The beaches are absolutely stunning and gorgeous. White sand beaches framed by tropical forests and shay Almendro Trees are everywhere. The area has been developed into a surfing beach community, with ecotourism, surf and holistic activities being the center and main focus.
